Cello lessons at Virtuosi Academy guide young musicians through the process of mastering the instrument. For beginners, there is a strong emphasis on correct mechanics: we help students learn correct posture; bow hold; feel both stability and freedom in their body and muscles while playing, discover and secure the geography of the fingerboard; develop pitch, rhythm sense and understanding of musicality through games.
From the outset, all students learn to read music. For more advanced students, we delve deep into music interpretation, discovering sound variety and working on developing a repertoire. As students’ skills progress, we help them learn to play pieces for their skill level all while having fun and enjoying the process!
